Cam site script, white label platform or build your own?

There are three ways to get the software for a cam site: build it yourself, rent a white label platform, or buy a cam site script and own it. Each one trades money against time and control differently. This guide compares them and lists the questions to ask any seller.

Building your own

You control everything, and you pay for everything. A cam site is several hard products at once: live video for many rooms, billing by the minute, tokens and payouts, verification, moderation and an admin panel. Expect a team, many months before launch and ongoing work afterwards. It makes sense when you already have developers and something no ready-made product does.

Renting a white label platform

A company runs the software and you put your brand on it. It is quick to start and needs no technical skills. In exchange you usually pay every month, often give the platform a share of every sale, and cannot take the site with you if you leave. Check whether the payment accounts are yours or the platform's.

Buying a cam site script

You pay a license once, the software is yours, and you run it on your own servers or have the seller host it. You keep all of the revenue and can change the code for your own site. You depend on the seller for updates and support, so check how long both last and how fast problems are fixed.

Questions to ask any seller

Do you take a share of my revenue? Is the source code included, and may I change it? How long are updates and support included, and what do they cost after that? Which payment companies are built in, and which cost extra? Can models stream from OBS, and does it re-encode every stream on my server? Are ID checks, toys and paid messages included or add-ons? Can I try a full demo first?

Hidden costs to look for

Add-ons sold separately, such as payment gateways, ID checks, toys or OBS streaming, can double the real price. So can a short support period followed by a yearly fee, or a revenue share that grows with your success. Add up what you will pay in the first two years, not just on day one.

Where FluffCams Pro fits

FluffCams Pro is a script you own, with hosting if you want it. There is no revenue share, the source code is yours to change for your own site, updates are free for the life of the product, and payments, ID checks, toys and OBS streaming are built in instead of sold as add-ons. Our comparison page puts it side by side with other scripts, with the date we checked.

Questions

Which is cheapest in the long run?

Usually a script you own, because you pay once and keep every sale. A platform is cheaper to start but costs more every year it runs, especially with a revenue share.

Can I move from a platform to my own script later?

Often only partly. Ask the platform whether you can take your members, models and their earnings with you before you sign.

Do I need a developer to run a script?

Not with managed hosting: the seller runs the servers and updates, and you run the site from its admin panel.
