Privacy Policy
What we keep about you as a customer, why, and for how long.
What we keep
- Your account: name, email address, company and country if you give them, and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Your orders: what you bought, invoices, payments, license keys, downloads and, for domains, the owner details a registry needs.
- Your agreement to our terms: the version and text you accepted, the date and time, your IP address and your browser.
- Security records: sign-ins and changes to your account, with the IP address.
- Messages you send us.
We never see or keep your card or PayPal login: payments are made at PayPal or in your own Bitcoin wallet.
Why
To deliver what you bought, bill and support you, keep your account and our business safe, prevent fraud, answer payment disputes with evidence, and meet our legal and tax duties.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that help us deliver: PayPal and our Bitcoin payment service for payments, our domain registrar for domain names, our email provider for emails, and our server providers. We do not sell your data.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. When you arrive through an affiliate's link, a second cookie remembers that affiliate's code for 30 days, so they are paid if you buy (see the affiliate terms). No advertising cookies.
Visitor statistics
To see which pages are useful, we count visits with Matomo, a statistics program we run ourselves (not Google). It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the pages you open, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location from a shortened IP address. These numbers are not shared with anyone. The admin and account pages are not counted.
How long
Order, payment and agreement records are kept for at least 7 years (tax and dispute rules). Your account is kept while you have it; you can ask us to close it, and we then delete what we are not required to keep.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in your account, and ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it, through the contact page.
